On the first Sunday of every month (except for January) we hold Super Sunday events at Kingsfield School in Kingswood. It's a chance for you to come along and see what our club is like, chat to us, have a tea or coffee and/or some food, and go out for a free assessment ride (one free ride per rider) with one of our team of experienced observers. We'll give you an honest assessment of your strengths and weaknesses and if you like what you see, you can sign up for the IAM Skill for Life course that we offer.
There will be lots going on, so please arrive by 9:00am in good time to sign in and be ready for the briefing in the main hall at 9:30am.

So what is a Super Sunday actually like?
Arriving close to 9:00am makes you part of a steady stream of bikes and bikers that make their way into the car park. The car park marshals will direct you to a place among the rows of other bikes that have already starting lining up in the parking area.
It's fascinating to see the range of bikes that arrive. BAM has such a diverse membership that members and visitors arrive on everything from cruisers to sports bikes, brand new bikes to classic old machinery. One thing that unites everyone here is a love of two wheels and don't we love to chat about it. If we're not sharing the latest routes that we've found, we're chatting about how our new double bubble screen makes our Shoei vibrate at a certain speed.
Onwards and Inwards

From the bike park, it's a short stroll out of the gate and along the pavement to the main building where most of the action happens. One of the first things that you'll encounter is our top chef, Martyn and his implements of doom. While he slaves away over a hot stove preparing bacon (and veggy sausages) for his discerning customers, his lovely wife Mel will be setting up the merchandising stall with things to buy and a few freebies for first time visitors.
Unsurprisingly this is the most popular 'milling point' where old friends chat and new friends are made. One thing that you will find out about BAM is that we're (almost always) a friendly bunch. We do what we do because we love it and not because we have to.
The Important Bit

Just before 9:30am, the klaxon sounds and everyone is summoned to the main hall. After a quick round of housekeeping, any riders who've recently passed their IAM test are invited up on stage with their observer to receive their certificate. This is the goal that we all work towards, so it's a big deal when someone puts in the effort and achieves recognition for their achievement.
After any announcements have been made, the allocations start. Existing associate members and any new visitors wanting an assessment are paired off with an observer. After some introductions, it's a stroll to the bikes, chatting on the way.
