benefits of 'emergency control' skills outweighed by risk compensation.

So we either give up on the skills, or ... how do we reduce the risk compensation ? :)

After the grief I got when raising awareness of the 'benefits' of skills training here a while back, I'll let someone else answer :)

no, please ... I think the concern about risk compensation is widespread, & I've seriously never seen anything useful on reducing it.
Intuitively you can accompany your IAM course with pictures of grisly RTCs and shout "this happens to advanced motorcyclists too!", but that's hardly a scientific approach ... and relying on intuition for the effects of skills training we'd probably miss risk compensation effects altogether...
